George’s passion is to create paintings that convey a feeling of movement, energy and mystery to the viewer. Working in a variety of mediums, including oils, water colors and acrylics, George’s painting style is often seen as abstract impressionist, utilizing color and light in interesting ways with a loose and easy application of painting marks.
George rarely utilizes typical drawing tools (pencil, pen or charcoal) to establish his compositions. Instead George usually dives right in and draws with a brush loaded with his paints, sometimes outlining his subject and other times using negative shapes to create his compositions. This process gives his paintings a freshness and sense of spontaneity that bends to George’s somewhat abstract and impressionist style.
