My art dances with vivid color and expressive intensity. Based on my intent for a painting, I decide on medium, substrate and scale. While I play, my art paints itself. I blend oil paint with cold wax and acrylic with texture.

I also use alcohol ink with air and encaustic wax with heat. I add texture, powders, resin, and a mix of media. I love painting on unexpected surfaces. I use alabaster, granite, and marble. I also paint on aluminum, mineral paper, and various woods. Each piece engages the viewer with a story and emotion.

I am a creative artist of more than 700 works. As a member of the Amador County Artist Association, I exhibit in local venues and network with other artists. I enjoy contributing artwork to our local non-profits to make a positive difference.

At age 20 I earned a Bachelor of Art from California State University, Sacramento. Twenty years later, after earning an MBA, I traveled throughout Europe. I inhaled art in museums and sketched my travels. I retired from the CAL FIRE academy after 38 years in state service. Now, I paint in my hillside chalet art studio on our rural property.
