The featured artist at the Sutter Creek Gallery for the month of April is jewelry artist Sandy Morgan. Sandy up-cycles vintage silver-plated trays, bowls, and silverware creating unique one-of-a-kind jewelry.
Sandy learned her art through the Amador County Gem and Mineral Society, continued her training through the California Federation of Mineralogical Society, and then completed her education in metal smithing and metal design in college.
Inspired by nature, many of her designs incorporate shells and stones with her sterling silver, silver plate, and copper. Sandy’s work has been described as bold and beautiful, taking repurposed silver and copper and giving them new life as original pieces.
Sandy is an award-winning artist and has taught classes for the Amador County Gem and Mineral society and Amador Arts. She offers single day classes on appointment and availability.
